Merged Mining

Merged mining allows a miner to mine for different cryptocurrencies that follow the same consensus mechanism, at the same time. The main benefit of merged mining is that every hash that each miner produces contributes to the total hash-rate of each of the blockchain thereby increasing the security of both the blockchains.
