What advice would you give for an enthusiast trying to enter the Crypto and Blockchain industry without any prior development or Finance related background?
I've been working in Supply Chain for the past 8 years but now looking for a career change. A few months ago I was introduced to the Blockchain and Crypto world which led me to Blockgeeks. I started educating myself on basic principles, concepts, terminology and real world cases. However, the best way to learn is by hands on experience aka a job in the field. Unfortunately, I do not have direct finance or technical/developer experience. What advice/guidance would you give to someone such as myself on how to acquire a job in the industry?
Hi Adam, It doesn't matter what background you belong to, as long as you are willing to learn, you're more than welcomed here! To continue to strive and find a job in this space, you first need to identify what job description suits you more aptly, check out some here: https://blockgeeks.com/guides/blockchain-jobs/ [note that not all jobs require coding experience, so you can still land a job in this space even if you're not interested in a purely technical role]. After that, explore projects and get involved in discussions, (virtual) meetups, and more to understand the space dynamics and contribute where yo can [you have your own supply chain experience which I am sure has some inconsistencies that blockchain can resolve, think around that line and you might be able to assist projects working in SC specifically]. This will get you noticed by peers and you'll be able to onboard projects and land yourself a good opportunity. It takes persistence and time, just make sure you're always open to learning and unlearning.
